I’ve been suffering lack of connectivity the last few days, (gosh has it only been four days?) managing to upload the last post that I’d all but drafted last weekend somehow otherwise. I thought I would have been able to write this post earlier about the fruits of my crafting last weekend, but it wasn’t to be & now I’m writing it thinking how much I’ve moved on, attempting to knit the ultimate chunky ski bobble hat (for me:-) & ALMOST on the brink of starting sewing christmas pressies – woo hoo! (And on holiday all next week to make some real progress – sew heavenly!!)
No matter, here it is now – the post about my attempts to combine my previous craft retail experience into one, yes – not two but one – craft product – the ultimate affordable one stop gift card. My aim was to combine jewellery with a handmade card, so that the jewellery is presented & already packaged for some lucky person to purchase at a Christmas craft fair.
Design 1: Using bought card blanks I lino printed this festive tree. Then I punched holes in it using a bead reamer & stitched the necklace to it in the cunning guise of a garland… hey presto!
Design 2: A set of wine glass charms presented on the card as if it was decorating your crystal wine glass – or in this case, your festive cocktail. Once again, just punctured the card to attach the charms to. Obviously the pack contains 6 different charms otherwise what would be the point ?! ha ha!
Design 3: An any occasion card (don’t you find a real lack of birthday cards in December when all you can see is holly, Christmas trees & penguins?) Anyway- this is mumsy flower brooch card. The brooch is made from felt – although I am also going to sell the silk dupion flower this way too – I can easily make another one for me now I know how!
So, no idea if they will sell well – any ££s I make will be hard earned “me” money 🙂
